Handmade, live edge wooden boards made from sustainably sourced Irish ash milled in Belfast.

Maker Duncan Legate has kept the live edge on these boards to give a natural aesthetic. "This wood comes from a friends farm in near Rathkenny, these boards feature a stunning grain pattern making each board truly unique. My handmade wooden chopping boards are sturdy, durable and made from native Irish timber".

Using traditional joinery techniques combined with contemporary design Duncan Legate creates heirloom quality furniture that are functional works of art.

The focus of Duncan's craft is working with natural or live edge timber. The raw nature of large slabs of timber force you to embrace the imperfections inherent in the timber. His minimalist attitude towards design is aimed to reinforce the connection with nature, between tree and furniture, its past life and the new life he is able to provide it.
