Native Irish Trees and Shrubs with Irish Moths

The Kilcoe Studio's 2026 calendar’s watercolour images are of some of our well-known, and less well-known, native flowers from a range of habitats. Depicted alongside them is one or more of the moths that use these plants to feed off as caterpillars.  Accompanying each of the beautiful illustrations, created exclusively for this calendar by artist Sonia Caldwell, there is informative text about the plant, its cultural uses, and the moth. Ireland’s number of different species of moth is extensive at over 1,500. Some moth species are very widespread and some are rare or even threatened with extinction. Where this is the case, it is often due to the loss of habitat as many moths only lay their eggs on specific plants.

The Calendar is printed on strong quality paper with a matte finish. The calendar page is  A4 in size and gives plenty of space for writing day to day activities. It hangs from a punched hole at the top and with the added strength of the stiffer cover it will easily last the year hanging in your home. It is printed locally in Cork with paper sourced from sustainable forestry.
