Barrow Arts acts as a home for functional and decorative ceramics made by visual artist James Hatton. Inspired by techniques and materials from across Europe and Asia, Barrow Arts pieces eschew repeatability in favour of a motif-based house style.

James works between two studios in County Galway, one in Spiddal and the other in Oughterard. The sea, bog, city and mountains all play a role in influencing his colour palette, as do ongoing explorations into natural pigments, found materials and experimental kiln operation.
